The National First Anti-Epidemic Spirit Memorial Square Completed in Hubei Province

2022-01-01

Carry forward the great anti-epidemic spirit and forge ahead on the journey in the new era. On New Year’s Day in 2022, the completion ceremony of the Anti-Epidemic Spirit Memorial Square and Dream Pursuing Song Finals jointly organized by the People's Government of Xianning City, Xinhuanet, and Reignwood Culture Foundation were held in Xianning.

The square is surrounded by trees and plants which line up to pay tribute to the heroic deeds. The numbers associated with the architecture echo the anti-epidemic timeline. The square not only interprets the great anti-epidemic spirit of "putting people's lives first, nationwide solidarity, sacrifice, respecting science, and a sense of mission for humanity", but also highlights the unremitting pursuit and beautiful expectation of putting ecology first and green development.

In 2020, in order to pay tribute to the anti-epidemic heroes and promote the great anti-epidemic spirit, Mr. Yan Bin, member of the National Committee of the CPPCC and honorary chairman of Reignwood Culture Foundation, proposed to build an anti-epidemic spirit memorial square in Hubei Province. Over the past year, Mr. Yan Bin personally inspected and deployed the square construction project. To achieve greater perfection, he invited many teams from the East and the West to exchange ideas with each other in terms of design. While actively responding to the multiple impacts of abnormal weather, epidemic prevention and control policies and closure of the city, the square was officially completed after 153 days of construction.

Shen Zhu, secretary-general of Reignwood Culture Foundation, addressed that the Foundation has always been adhering to the public service concept of devotion to the country and promoting cultural heritage. The great anti-epidemic spirit will always inspire us to brave wind and rain and forge ahead on the new journey. The Foundation will continue to serve the needs of the country and society, and utilize cultural power to promote rural revitalization, integration of sports and education and facilitate green development and technological innovation.

At the scene, "Children from the Stars" from Beijing Golden Wings Art Education Center for Handicapped Children also contributed to the promotion of the anti-epidemic spirit through paintings. Representatives from local medical staff and youth groups jointly performed the theme song of the Beijing Winter Olympics "Together to the Future", expressing their vision for a healthy China.?
